As the Master may have said on a TV show popular long before you were born, "You are wise beyond your years, grasshopper." Seems you have a very level head on your shoulders, Mr. Z.

Indeed, I have very few regrets in my life. It always seems to be the case that even the bumpy and horrible roads I've found myself walking down have always, in the end, taught me an important lesson and lead to somewhere better.

But enough heaviness for tonight. :)

Don't feel guilty. We all have hopes and dreams for our loved ones, but most of the times things turn to be a different way. It happens all the time in life, you think it will be A or B, but it finally is C. I have failed to my parents a couple of times... my school grades weren't as good as they wanted, I was so lazy and I had to do lots of exams to finish the year. I knew their dream was to see me graduate as the best of my class, but it wasn't that way. However, I learned about some "life" things, friendship and myself. I know it was worthy, beside my poor califications.
And it's about that, the "balance" between what you need and what you are expected to do. Your life is your own path, and you walk it the way you like, in the direction you like. You must face the consecuences, only. Don't feel guilty of being doing what makes you feel good, as long as you don't hurt other persons (intentionally)...
